New funding for Arabic language

The Al Tajir Trust confirm their support to the Arabic language of Native’s SMC Programme .

The Same Migrant Community Programme (SMC) connects migrant children and scientists with the same heritage background through science outreach workshops in a shared heritage language. The programme is active in several countries and covers a variety of heritage languages spoken across Europe. Arabic is the latest addition to our SMC portfolio, and is rapidly expanding its reach.

The Al Tajir Trust is a UK based charity that promotes knowledge, appreciation and understanding of the Muslim world. One of the Trust's main funding schemes focuses on charitable institutions working in the education sector to support underserved communities. Native Scientists has just received a grant from the Trust to support our Arabic language programme, the second organisation to exclusively fund Arabic workshops. Hania Tayara, SMC Programme Lead, says "the grant from Al Tajir Trust has come at a pivotal moment for the Arabic programme, as we close the first school year of the project and look to grow for the next one. It means a lot to have this vote of support from an organisation with values and goals that align so closely with our own." The grant will allow the Arabic programme to grow its reach across the UK in the next school year.

If you are interested in the SMC programme, please email hania.tayara@nativescientists.org. If you want to be involved in future Arabic workshops, register to volunteer here.
